**UPDATE: MIP9 - Active Set Expansion
**
With the announcement of Cadence by Category Labs and the materially different consensus architecture that would entail from the current consensus implementation, the active-set changes proposed in MIP-9 (which were tested against the current architecture) are being postponed pending evaluation under Cadence.
Proceeding now risks setting a limit that would need to be revised if Cadence is implemented. An expansion may be revisited once a larger active set can be validated against the proposed upgraded architecture.
